Rugby’s Architecture
Rugby is a town in Warwickshire, England. It is the second largest market town in Warwickshire and the birthplace of rugby football.
One notable piece of architecture in Rugby is the Neo-Georgian Town Hall building.
Built between 1959-1961, the building splits opinions on its appearance. The Town Hall is composed of two Neo-Georgian wings and a white stone Portico entrance.
The current town hall is Rugby’s third town hall. The previous two Town Hall buildings are still standing and incorporated into the high street being used for commercial purposes.
Another notable building in Rugby is Rugby School. The school buildings date between the 18th, 19th and 20th centuries and are grade II listed. The mix of brick colours in the new quad building is particularly attractive.
